The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the result of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for the June 2026 cycle on 29 August 2026, along with the final answer key. The examination was conducted on 17 and 18 July 2026 for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Assistant Professor / Lectureship across five subject areas — Chemical Science; Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Science; Life Science; Mathematical Science; and Physical Science. Online applications were accepted from 27 May 2026 to 19 June 2026, with the admit card released on 13 July 2026. The provisional answer key was published on 16 August 2026, followed by the final answer key and result on 29 August 2026. Applicants must hold an M.Sc or equivalent postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55% marks for General and OBC candidates, or 50% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates. The upper age limit for the JRF category is 30 years, with standard age relaxation applicable to reserved categories; there is no upper age limit for candidates applying only for eligibility to Assistant Professor / Lectureship positions. The application fee was ₹1,150 for General category, ₹600 for EWS/OBC, and ₹325 for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.
